CINEMAS
The Metropolis cinema will serve as the principal venue for the Bitfilm programme. During the festival, four screenings will be presented there during the week and five programmes on the weekend. The Metropolis is located on the south side of the festival boulevard. It will also host theTalk+Show-Workshops.
You missed a feature presentation at the Metropolis or the film you saw was so great you want to see it again? Don't worry, you can make up for it at the Cinemaxx, where the digital feature films are shown each night at 8 PM. There is one additional screening on Thursday night at 10 at the Grindel, Grindelberg 7 (not on the map above).
BITFILM LOUNGE / FESTIVAL CENTRE
The Bitfilm Lounge shares locations with the Hamburg Filmfestival headquarters at the west wing of the Greve building, Edmund-Siemers-Allee 1. Here you can play our Flash Interactive entries and take a look at the Micromovies on video phones. Festival guests can pick up their free tickets and festival passes at our info booth.
The Metropolis, the Cinemaxx and the Bitfilm Lounge are in walking distance of each other.
WORKSHOPS
The Hands-On-Workshops will be held in classrooms of the University of Hamburg that are located in same the building as the Bitfilm Lounge. The Talk+Show workshops run each afternoon at the Metropolis.
PARTIES
The Edelfettwerk where our Lichtspielfest takes places, is a former factory. It offers its guests bars and three dancefloors that take up an area of approximately 6.000 sq.m. on three levels. It is situated close to the train station Eidelstedt at Schnakenburgallee 202a (not on the map above).
The Brasil Digital Party will be celebrated in the University of Hamburg. Students mockingly call the grey concrete building on the university campus "Wiwi Bunker" - in here the faculty of economic science, in German Wirtschaftswissenschaften, is located.
